Lily Luna Potter (b. c. 2008) was an English half-blood witch, the youngest child and only daughter of Harry and Ginevra Potter (née Weasley). Lily had two older brothers, James Sirius and Albus Severus Potter. She was named in honor of her late paternal grandmother, Lily Potter, and her middle name came from her parents' good friend Luna Lovegood.

Lily began her education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 2019, along with her cousin, Hugo Granger-Weasley, and they were both sorted into Gryffindor house.

Biography

Early life

Lily Luna Potter was born to Harry and Ginevra Potter as their youngest child and only daughter. She had two older brothers: James Sirius and Albus Severus Potter. Lily was around two years younger than Albus and four years younger than James.

In 2014, Lily and her family attended the 2014 Quidditch World Cup final in the Patagonian Desert. Lily and the majority of her family were sporting Bulgarian red. It should also be noted that she was very well behaved, as Rita Skeeter, a poison-pen journalist who found something nasty to say about everyone, ndid ot make any scathing comments regarding her behavior.

In 2017, she went to see her brothers and her cousin, Rose Granger-Weasley, off at the Hogwarts Express, but was not old enough to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She also acted as excited and enthusiastic as her mother, Ginny, had acted when Harry and Ron went to their first year of Hogwarts about attending school one day. She and her cousin, Hugo Granger-Weasley, were around the same age. Hugo and Lily talked excitedly about which house they wanted to be in at Hogwarts.

In 2019, Lily began her education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was Sorted into Gryffindor House. In 2020, she was seen on Platform 9¾ along with the rest of her family, sitting on her older brother's trolley.

Hogwarts Years (2019-2026)

3 Year

Lily was excited to return to Hogwarts for her third year. She learned from Headmistress McGonagall that the Chamber of the Secrets is open again.

This year, the Chamber of Secrets was opened, and Lily became determined to uncover the truth and save the school. With her cousins, Hugo and Albus, on her side. She finds a mysterious diary in the school library and takes it without doubt about what she will find inside.

Physical description

Lily inherited the red hair of her mother's family and most of the Weasleys' physical traits as well, not just her hair color. Her most notable characteristic was her cheery smile, possibly inherited from Lily Potter, her late grandmother, who also had a very prominent smile.

Personality and traits

Lily seemed to have a personality similar to her mother. She was very jealous of her two older brothers when they were leaving for Hogwarts, quite similar to the eagerness and envy Ginny displayed when the last of her brothers went away to school in 1991.

Lily also seemed to enjoy talking to her family. She and her cousin Hugo had an "animated discussion" about what house they would be in, suggesting they were very close.

Magical abilities and skills

Much like her mother, Lily Luna was a very powerful and talented witch. She was naturally talented at Defence Against the Dark Arts, a gifted flyer, and a skilled Quidditch player. At the age of fourteen, she was able to conjure a Fox Patronus. This was an impressive feat, as the Patronus Charm was very advanced magic and proof of superior magical ability.

• Duelling: Despite being often prevented from participating in combat by her mother, mainly for her young age, Lily Luna was a highly talented and competent duellist. She had an uncanny ability to dodge her opponents' curses due to her agility and reflexes.

• Defence Against the Dark Arts: Lily Luna was capable of duelling highly dangerous Dark Wizards.

• Charms: Lily Luna was highly proficient in this branch of magic. Most impressively, at the age of fourteen, she was able to cast the extremely advanced and powerful Patronus Charm, which took the corporeal form of a horse.

• Flying: Like her mother, Lily Luna became an accomplished flyer and played Seeker for the Gryffindor Quidditch team. She eventually became a captain like her father was once.

• Agility: Like her mother, Lily Luna was small and extremely fast, making her adept at dodging spells in combat and flying to catch the Golden Snitch at Quidditch matches.

• Dark Arts: Unlike her parents, Lily Luna was not skilled in dark magic or in casting dark charms. However, under Tom Riddle's instruction, she learned how to successfully cast numerous dark spells when she didn't know who he was.

• Wand: Lily Luna's wand was made from yew, with an unknown length and core. Like most wizards and witches, she purchased it at Ollivanders before beginning her education at Hogwarts in 2021.

• Broomstick: Lily Luna had an unknown broom which she used for Quidditch as Seeker and Captain.

• T. M. Riddle's Diary: Like her mother, Tom Riddle's diary was in Lily Luna's possession before her cousin, Hugo Granger Weasley, destroyed it in the Chamber of Secrets in 2021. The memory that resided in the diary had begun possessing and slowly draining the life out of Lily Luna, as it had with her mother once.

• Bedroom: Lily Luna's bedroom was where she used to sleep. It is located upstairs. It was described as big and bright. It also overlooks the family's orchard and was decorated mostly with flowers.

• Weasley jumper: As a member of the Weasley family, she owned several Weasley Jumpers. They were made by her grandmother, Molly Weasley, for family and friends and sent as Christmas gifts.

• 
  Yule Ball robes: Lily Luna wore a dress robe to the Yule Ball in 2024. She was accompanied to the ball by her future husband, Lysander Scamander.

• Dress robes: These were the dress robes worn by Lily Luna to the Slug Club Christmas party in December 2025.

Lily had a close relationship with her father and her mother. She resembled her mother, Ginny, in appearance and personality. Lily also seemed to love her father dearly, as she held hands with him in 2017 and looked towards him for comfort. During the 2014 Quidditch World Cup, Lily sat close to her father and stared up at him in what appeared to be admiration.

James had a fondness for teasing his younger siblings, including Lily, who reciprocated his care and humorous attitude to both her brothers. When Lily went to see her brother off to Hogwarts, she seemed to be close to her brother James Sirius and was hugging him at King's Cross Station.
